Koto
Koto designs modular houses, cabins, and small sculptural buildings inspired by Scandinavian design and culture. The co-founders, Johnathon and Zoë Little, returned from living on the shores of Norway’s fjords with a deep appreciation of the local aesthetic and environment and teamed up with a best friend and surfing companion, Theo Dales. As both architects and parents, they recognised the dynamic relationship between nature, quality design and one of life’s great luxuries – spending time with friends and family.
Their work is characterised by simple sculptural forms that maximise light and space. Their homes are conceived with nature in mind, protecting the environment and encouraging biophilic living, a deep connection between people and the natural world.
Koto’s cabins are almost entirely made from sustainably sourced timbers, which capture carbon dioxide in the building's fabric and actively remove it from the atmosphere. They pride themselves on using natural materials to create spaces that fully heighten human senses and provide opportunities to immerse in nature.
